BBG X Democracy Exchange
On April 30th, 2026, Bridge Building Group and the Open Democracy Project co-hosted DemocracyXChange’s inaugural regional event, DXC+ Ottawa, at the Global Centre for Pluralism supported by OCAD U’s Cultural Policy Hub.
We brought together business leaders, public sector representatives, and civil society to explore a question at the heart of the moment: How do we move fast without losing what matters most?
Pearson Centre (60th anniversary)
On February 13th, 2025, the Pearson Centre partnered with The Other Hill (a space dedicated to inspiring conversations in Canada’s capital) and Bridge Building Group to host an important discussion with everyday Canadians about the flag—before the traditional reception with speeches and cake cutting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the canadian flag.
We gathered—leaders and everyday Canadians alike—to ask: What does the flag mean to Canadians today?
BBG X Education Liberation
The Intergenerational Co-Lab is co-created with Abby Karos from Education Liberation, bringing youth and older adults together to tackle real community challenges side by side.
The 2026 pilot of this project brought together Grade 6 students from Wakefield Elementary, elders from across the La Pêche community, and local organizations willing to hand over a real community problem.
Teams formed around the problem each group most wanted to work on. Through the winter and spring we hosted them in sessions using human-centred design, restorative practices, Art of Hosting, and nonviolent communication. At the final celebration event each team presented its thinking back to the organization that raised the problem.
This is intergenerational connection doing what bridge building does best: closing distance, building trust, and reminding two generations that they have more to offer each other than either expected.
We're running it again in 2027 in Wakefield, and expanding it to Ottawa.
